WORSHIP GATHERINGS AT CANTON FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH
Gathering every Sunday morning as a faith community to
worship God is important at Canton First Baptist Church. In fact, it’s the most
important thing we do. We follow the instruction of Jesus when he said that the
greatest commandment was to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and
with all your soul and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:37).
We define worship this way: “Worship is communion with God
in which believers, by grace, center their mind’s attention and their heart’s
affection on the Lord, humbly glorifying God, in response to His greatness and
His word.” So when we gather, our focus is on God.
Worship Gatherings
11:00 a.m. Worship (Sanctuary)
About 220 people gather in our open and airy main sanctuary
each Sunday morning at 10:55 a.m. The worship is traditional with a passionate
commitment to experiencing the word of the Lord and growing into a more
personal relationship with God. Our wonderful pipe organ and grand piano are
the foundation of the music, often supplemented with handbells, guitars and
orchestra.
Both services have opportunities for gatherers to hear God’s
word, pray together, sing in a variety of styles, contemplate the presence of
God in quietness, and hear an uplifting and challenging message from our
pastor.
Each first Sunday of the month is Family worship for the
whole family seated together. Children’s Church is available the second through
fifth Sundays of each month for children K3 to 2nd Grade.
6:08 p.m. Worship (Sanctuary)
Between 60 and 80 worshipers join each Sunday evening at 6:08 p.m for an upbeat interactive worship experience led by the praise band and bible discussions lead by the Pastors. This intimate worship environment invites the congregation to participate in a smaller, more personal worship setting. Accompanied by praise band of guitar, keyboard, and other instruments, the worship is both inviting and personal. Our Welcome Center opens at 5:45 p.m. for evening fellowship and snacks for all ages.
